Sunflower Challenge Launch - April 2016 - granthamsunriserotary.org

The Grantham Sunrise Rotary Club officially launched its Sunflower Challenge at Downtown Garden Centre. Hundreds of seeds, coupled with growing instructions, were handed out to members of the public, young and old alike. Sunflower Sam was on hand to make the children smile and Sunrise members gave up their time to help promote the challenge.

President Andre Finney was present all weekend, as was vice president Ian Brodie who was the founder of the event. He said “We hope to actively engage with the local community with this project, and hope that the seeds will be sown for an exciting challenge.”

“In September, the height of the sunflowers will be measured, along with the weight of the head, and prizes awarded to the tallest and heaviest, in different categories.”
