Calvert Trust 2026

Our 2026 Calvert Trust candidate, Chris Cook, attended Grantham Sunrise Rotary’s social BBQ last night 5 Aug 26 at Nappa Lodge. The event was well attended by members who were able to question Chris about his experience on the week long (outward bound type of course) at Calvert Trust Keswick in the Lake District.

Chris told members about canoeing, bike riding, high wires, swimming and night walking and much more. His favoutites being canoeing and biking. He chickened out at the absailing as he is afraid of heights and couldn’t be coaxed into it being absolutely safe. He made new friends and came away a very happy young man. Micky from the Tess organisation who supports Chris at their allotment in Bridge End Road said that Chris had become more independent, happy and useful member who now just got on with jobs at the allotment. Chris thanked members for their support and sponsorship.
